The game features 6 distinct infantry classes and 18 different vehicles, each of which play unique roles on the battlefield.
PlanetSide 2 is faster-paced than Planetside, featuring modern first person shooter elements such as sprinting, iron sights, and regenerating shields. The game is an open world with large battles featuring up to 1,200 players per continent on foot and in land/air vehicles. As in the previous game, players, who represent one of three factions, attempt to control the planet Auraxis by capturing numerous territories.
PlanetSide 2 is a re-imagining of PlanetSide, featuring the same world and factions and taking place at roughly the same time period.
